It's tematic is a bit to overated in my eyes... sure... It's cool at some point but, let's face the facts Shinji is the worst lead character they've could have come up with...

Epic anime, I enjoyed almost every episode.
Shinji isn't a great lead, but I never choose lead character's as my favorite anyways.

watched the whole series in 2 days! i was hooked... its really good but not something i would watch again and again

This series made me a full-metal-otaku. Definitely a must-see for everyone who's into complex plots.

Likable only if one turns a blind eye to its extremely (as Kroni said) pretentious plot. Strange treatment of main characters too.

great. it's kinda hard to understand the end of it, and it will depress you for about an hour while watching it.
the whole series is brilliant. and it doesn't cling to all those anime cliches (I'm here for you\your never alone\naruto style talk about friendship)
they've done their job in keeping the characters' metal image to the end.
recomanded-though not to everyone.

hard to rate this because i spent a 48 hour period of just watching this show. In the end it was a good story- despite what I wanted the characters to do, the story unfolded in an interesting manner- and i'm including the movies with this.
