love the show when it follows the manga, though the fillers will make you rip out your own hair in agony

i think everyone pretty much agrees on the same thing. The anime is brilliant when there are no fillers. And Shippuden is REALLY good.

I agree with mentaljedi.
Naruto is a great anime. Lots of fillers, most of which I skipped over. Shippuden is where you really start seeing some of the best of Naruto as far as episodes go.

Very nice at embracing multiple perspectives. Has many good lessons in perseverance, team work, and understanding the enemy and oneself to succeed. Plenty of interesting metaphors can be drawn from it involving the nature of the self; the ties of friendship, kinship, and country; the fallibility of government; and the terrible yet inevitable explosions of war.
Having said that, it sure does take its time, and spends most of it being dorky.
It can be an irritatingly addictive thing wading through all the random pointless stuff to find the gems.
If you like it besides the fillers, read the manga. So much better. And faster. Instead of filler arcs it goes into actual backstory. And if you must, go look up a fight scene or whatever on the net. Worked for me.

I just hated the fact that it was so slow paced and things would go on FOREVER...the zabuza and haku thing was too much for me to bear...XD

I really like this but they stop Dubbing it and the fillers are totally waste of time.

the filler is so bad i give them a 1 but the rest is my favorite anime
