it's a good anime.
and you CAN actually link it to the events in mai-HiME(only some thousands of years later),
so you can call it a great sequel.
1st part was kind of an introduction, though it was nice, and the 2nd part was great, with all sorts of plot spins and great character development.
only problem is that if you've seen Mai-HiME(also highly recommended), you'll know who the bad guys are right away.
