Great anime. In my opinion there's a lot of subtext towards our society now a days and the environment.

This movie just didn't connect to me emotionally. I thoughtt he environmental message was heavy-handed, and the ending was bizarre and almost farcical in how things were handled. It's still quite a bit more tolerable than Nausicaa, however, and the technical achievements are obvious.

I found it to be a very nice metaphoric vision of the relationship between man and mother earth. Fantasy and good bedtime stories at it's best. A must see for any anime fan.
