The ending is a fantastically horrifying and violent conclusion to the series. It made the series for me.

overall good but needs to be concluded... the manga shows a longer version of the story

The manga was better.
But this is good too.
Berserk is not for the faint of heart. I will fondly remember it as showing me way more I wanted to see of dismembered corpses when I was fifteen years of age.
Berserk has a compelling storyline and interesting characters. It is like an old tragic play; all the plot elements weave together, desperate at first, into a nightmarish catastrophe at the end.
Strongly recommended.
