We collect normal web server logs for statistics. The logs contain fields like IP address, time of access, requested URL, referrer and the browser used.
To log in, users need to accept a HTTP cookie. The cookie contains a session id.
Registered users are not required to provide any personal information. When registered users log in, the user's IP address is recorded. This is because we need a way to spot evil people who create hundreds of accounts to influence ratings. We also store the time of signing up and the time of last login for each user. If you import votes from AniDB, your AniDB user id will be saved to ease your importing in the future.
We will never give or sell your personal information to any other party without your explicit permission (this includes any ratings you have given to anime titles). An exception, however, is that any recommendations you receive are public and viewable by anyone who knows or guesses your username.
